Manufacturing Georgia (“Manufacturing Georgia,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) may use artificial intelligence (“AI”) and automated processing technologies to support and enhance the functionality of the Manufacturing Georgia platform, including training, job matching, skills recommendations, and workforce development services. This AI Use Policy (“AI Policy”) explains how AI is used on the Manufacturing Georgia platform, the types of data that may be involved, and the choices available to users regarding AI-powered features. It should be read in combination with our Privacy Policy and any other applicable data or user agreements.

2. AI Features on Manufacturing Georgia

Manufacturing Georgia may use AI and automated systems to support a variety of platform features, including but not limited to:
  • Enhancing search, discovery, and recommendation of training programs, certifications, and career pathways relevant to manufacturing.
  • Providing tailored job and training recommendations based on user-provided profile information, interests, and activity on the platform.
  • Supporting industry workforce insights and talent pipeline analytics for employers and manufacturers.
  • Improving user experience, navigation, and platform efficiency.
  • Assisting in matching employers with qualified candidates based on skills, experience, and employer needs.
AI-powered features are designed to assist users and do not replace human decision-making in significant outcomes such as hiring, final training placements, or employer selection

3. Data Used for AI Processing

Types of Data Used
For AI-powered features, Manufacturing Georgia may process user profile and platform activity data that is already available through user interactions with the platform, such as:
  • Skills, certifications, and training history.
  • Job search preferences, application history, and related activity.Interests and preferences entered into the platform.
  • Publicly shared employment and experience information.
  • Employer job postings and role requirements.
Data used for AI processing will be limited to what is necessary to deliver AI-based features and recommendations.

Data Explicitly Excluded
Manufacturing Georgia does not intentionally provide the following personal data to AI systems for AI-powered features unless required by law or specific user consent:
  • Full name*
  • Email address*
  • Phone number*
  • Physical address*
  • Government-issued identification numbers*
  • Account login credentials*
  • Financial or payment information*

4. FERPA Compliance and Learner Consent

Manufacturing Georgia’s use of AI complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • AI processing involving education records occurs only where permitted by FERPA and Manufacturing Georgia policies
  • Learners who do not provide or who revoke FERPA consent will not have their education records used for AI-powered features that rely on such data
  • When FERPA consent is not granted, AI-generated summaries and related AI-driven features may be limited or unavailable
Manufacturing Georgia does not disclose education records through AI features in a manner inconsistent with FERPA requirements.

5. Learner and Employer Choice and Control

  • Participation in AI-powered features is subject to applicable consent and privacy settings
  • Learners may modify their profile information and privacy preferences at any time
  • Employers control the information they include in job postings and organization profiles used for AI-based recommendations
Manufacturing Georgia does not use AI to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects without meaningful human involvement.

6. Use of Third-Party AI Services

Manufacturing Georgia may engage third-party service providers to support AI and automated processing functions. When doing so:
  • Data shared is limited to what is necessary to deliver AI-powered features
  • Third-party providers are contractually required to protect data and use it only to provide services to Manufacturing Georgia
  • Manufacturing Georgia does not permit third-party AI providers to use learner or employer data for independent purposes unrelated to Manufacturing Georgia services, where contractually supported

7. Data Security and Retention

AI-related data processing is subject to Manufacturing Georgia’s security and data retention practices, including:
  • Technical and organizational safeguards to protect data
  • Restricted access to authorized personnel
  • Retention of data only as long as necessary to support platform functionality and comply with legal obligations
These practices are consistent with Manufacturing Georgia’s Privacy Policy.

8. Accuracy, Limitations, and Transparency

AI-powered features rely on information provided by users and partner institutions and may not always be complete, current, or error-free. AI-generated summaries, recommendations, and matches are provided for informational and assistive purposes only.

Users should review and verify information before making education, hiring, or employment decisions.

9. Policy Updates

Manufacturing Georgia may update this AI Policy periodically to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, or platform features. The most current version will be posted on the Manufacturing Georgia website.
