For years, the manufacturing industry has struggled with outdated perceptions, often viewed as dark, dull, dirty, and dangerous. But today, Georgia's manufacturers are at the forefront of innovation, offering dynamic, technology-driven careers. Recognizing the need to change this narrative and attract skilled workers, the Georgia Association of Manufacturers (GAM) embarked on a mission to create a platform that could engage future workers, especially students and young professionals.

In 2023, after listening to feedback from member manufacturers across Georgia, GAM launched an initiative to address two key challenges: improving the image of manufacturing and increasing the availability of skilled workers. Through conversations with manufacturers and educators, it became clear that traditional methods of engagement weren’t enough to effectively reach younger audiences. As a result, GAM began researching innovative solutions to make the industry more appealing and accessible.

To bring this vision to life, GAM formed a strategic partnership with Unmudl, a Skills-to-Jobs Marketplace renowned for its ability to connect learners with employers. Unmudl’s expertise in creating platforms that focus on mid-level technician skills made it the perfect fit for what GAM wanted to achieve. Together, GAM and Unmudl set out to develop a platform that blends social media-like capabilities with cutting-edge technology to directly connect manufacturers with students, job seekers, and the broader public.

As we look to the future, Manufacturing Georgia is poised to become vital in bridging the gap between manufacturers and the next generation of workers. With the full rollout scheduled for 2025, we’re excited to see how the platform will continue to grow, adapt, and shape the future of Georgia’s manufacturing industry.
